Experience
All through college, I worked as a tutor and have continued to work as a private tutor since graduating in 2004. Since 2011, I have been working full-time as a private tutor, traveling to meet clients from Greensboro to Chapel Hill. Starting Summer 2014, I will be focusing solely on the Chapel Hill area and by Fall 2014, I will have an established office about 10mins from campus. My tutoring experiences span from pre-kindergarten through junior and senior level college mathematics and history courses, as well as adult education. I have taught entire Geometry, Algebra I & II, and Latin I courses as a private tutor as well as worked with both high school and adult students as they prepare for the SAT, GRE, and GED. On the collegiate level, I have worked with students over the past three years in the areas of: College Writing, Organizational Strategies, GED prep, College Algebra, and Calculus I. This is not a list of the topics to which I am limited; but rather, these are the needs of the students who have reached out to me in recent history. I have a great deal of training and experience working with students who have been diagnosed as ADHD/ADD, and I have also worked with cases of severe anxiety. Having completed an MDiv degree, I am also qualified to help those wanting to learn the Bible or Koine Greek (Biblical Greek) or those seeking a mentor for their child. If you/your child is interested in the MBTI test to help them better determine a career path or for personal reasons, please let me know. I will be qualified to officially administer the MBTI as of September 2014. For me, tutoring is not only a job; it is a hobby, a passion, a lifestyle. I have loved to help others learn since I was little. As a young teenager, I would help my mother home-school my younger brother. Now, I have the expertise to complement my dedication. I feel very strong that students should not merely be trained to pass courses but that they should be taught to love learning. This is the goal to which I strive.
