Experience
I have a deep love of mathematics and physics, which led me to receive two undergraduate degrees: one in Physics and one in Mathematics from Wake Forest University. I am now a graduate student working toward a degree in physics from UNC-Chapel Hill. I will complete my Ph.D. very soon. Not only do I love science and math, but I also love helping students understand these concepts. I've worked as a tutor in a few different ways since I was a junior in undergrad, where I worked as a teaching assistant for both abstract algebra and calculus courses. I have worked with a tutoring company for several years as well, primarily tutoring in physics and math. Since becoming a graduate student, I have also worked for four years as a teaching assistant to introductory-level physics classes. My goal as a tutor is to help my students answer questions about these classes, but also to help them generally learn to problem-solve for themselves, because this skill translates to nearly any problem in life. I get the most satisfaction when my students finally understand their subject, and have an "aha!" moment about their coursework. I can tutor any level of math and physics, including for college entrance exams.
