Experience
I completed a Ph.D. in economics in May 2017 at the University of North Carolina and will be a college professor beginning in the Fall semester of 2017. During my graduate studies, I have had the opportunity to teach and tutor for a variety of economics and statistics courses at the college-level. I have also tutored students from 8th grade through college-level in a number of mathematics courses, was a math minor as an undergraduate, and use a variety of calculus and statistics techniques in my research. In addition to being well-versed in the subjects of business, economics, mathematics, and statistics, I have also picked up some writing skills over time. As such, I would be happy to work with students on writing or research projects in areas other than those mentioned. I have been greatly influenced by the instruction and mentorship of many different teachers throughout my life. Seeing the impact that these teachers had on me, I have come to realize that teaching and tutoring are ways for me to have a positive, lasting influence on the lives of others. This is why I have decided to make a career of teaching at a college, and why I enjoy tutoring students 1-on-1 for a variety of subjects.
